Fitness has saved my life y'all...literally. Dramatic much? Yep, that's me. After suffering through debilitating migraines and vertigo for years, I finally threw in the towel and changed my lifestyle to have a better quality of life. After doing different fitness classes and working with personal trainers for a couple years, I started searching for a team sport to help me have FUN while being more active. I'm the type that has to keep my fit life exciting. BUT, I didn't want my "sport" to involve 1) running, 2) balls flying toward my face, or 3) contact with another person, like tackling or bumping - clearly I'm not the most athletic person. That is how JUMP for Fitness! was born.
We held our 1st JUMP for Fitness! an adult Double Dutch event on Sunday, August 4th, 2019. Now that Iβm fully recovered I have to give a HUUUUUUGE thank you to everyone that came out and supported JUMP for Fitness! I am so happy to say that our very first event was a MAJOR success. ππΎππΎππΎ
Being an introvert, I had all sorts of anxiety leading up to the event. I even had a nightmare that I would be forced to talk to people all day and wouldnβt get a chance to actually jump. Even with all of the fear and anxiety I felt, we still went ahead and did the thing. And guess what? My anxiety was for NOTHING! We had such a super dope group of women come out that it was like meeting new family.
Even as the event host, I managed to burn OVER one thousand calories! I was also able to teach a 4 year old how to jump in less than 60 seconds. Aaaaaaaand at the end of the event not only did we get requests to do another JUMP for Fitness! event, I also got an invitation to add a class to the calendar at Power Fit Chicago.
Save the date for next month's follow-up event on Sunday, September 8th, 2019. Our last event sold out THREE times and had a waiting list so you'll want to grab your ticket(s) quickly. Also, keep an eye on your email for the announcement once JUMP for Fitness! is added to the fall schedule at Power Fit Chicago.
Oh, wanna really feel the magic from JUMP for Fitness!? Check out this video.
